21^st century English language learners come to classrooms with knowledge of places, languages, customs and cultures. They come with optimism, energy, and unique perspectives of their own. Through interactions with teachers, classmates and other learners they learn many things that enrich their lives and which enable them to face the increasingly diverse workplaces and communities. In short, today's learners are digital learners and will become valued members of tomorrow's global economy.
